Description
It was a nice late morning one July when on a return from Yellowstone National Park that I passed by the landmark in western Nebraska that served as a guidepost for those on the Oregon Trail. Chimney Rock displays it's unique form as a thunderstorm threatens the area. It is still a landmark that Nebraskans treasure to this day, having spent time on license plates, stamps, letterheads, and other displays. If you are out in western Nebraska alongside a 2-lane highway, you may just pass by this small but majestic landmark.
