A photograph of a Texas Longhorn steer in central Nebraska. Shot was taken in a corral after a somewhat rainy morning. This gentle giant still was not wanting his photo taken as he moved around the corral incessantly as I tried to get the shot. The 80 year old owner actually climbed the fence and did some maneuvering to get him away from the other cattle and to face me. To get this series of shots, I was not in the corral, and also had bumped into the electric fence. "I forgot to tell you about that!" exclaimed the owner.
I am a former educator, having spent 40 years in Nebraska and Iowa as a teacher, counselor, and school psychologist. In 2006 I returned to my love of art and began shooting nature, landscape, wildlife, and weddings. I loved the midwestern states but have also enjoyed traveling across the US and international locations. Taking photos of the special visions I saw prompted many of these photos. You will see shots in Iowa, California, Montana, Wyoming in the US and shots from Italy, Greece, the Philippines, Great Britain, Germany and so on in this portfolio. In June-July 2018 I traveled to Kenya and Tanzania, East Africa. Then in October 2019, I traveled to South America (Peru and Ecuador and Galapagos Islands) to new vistas! I use...
