The sun is trying to peek through the clouds and fog this fine winter morning up on Hurricane Ridge, Washington, a beautiful drive south of Port Angeles, WA. When we started from FA, no snow on the ground remained from the snowfall 10 days earlier, but a much different story on the way to Hurricane Ridge, as we encountered 4-6 feet of snow at the lodge (elevation 5,000+). A beautiful drive it was, as you can tell from the photo.

I am a former educator, having spent 40 years in Nebraska and Iowa as a teacher, counselor, and school psychologist. In 2006 I returned to my love of art and began shooting nature, landscape, wildlife, and weddings. I loved the midwestern states but have also enjoyed traveling across the US and international locations. Taking photos of the special visions I saw prompted many of these photos. You will see shots in Iowa, California, Montana, Wyoming in the US and shots from Italy, Greece, the Philippines, Great Britain, Germany and so on in this portfolio.
